Did you adjust the length of the arms with the alignment key in place?

Yes I just can't get the shifter to move over into the rev position, it's like it won't pull over far enough

I took apart the shifter arms and shims but didn't touch the main shifter with springs. Ck out the video on YouTube the only different is the center shim on mine has a cut out in it. Looking for a print out or pics of a 70 hurst shifter

Ive rebuilt several shifters. I would verify that all the shims are in the right positions. If its all put back together the right way, you have an issue with the reverse detent lever or spring. Does you feel it hitting the detent? Are you using the right mounting plate? When you put it into reverse, the 'button's "stem" for lack of a better word, will stick out the side of the shifter on the transmission side/ If you don't have the right mount, the stem will hit the mounting plate and not allow the shifter to hit the reverse detent.

If you really get jammed up, you can ship it to me and I can either fix it or rebuild it for you
