Does anyone have a pdf file or scanned exploded view of assembly of a competition plus shifter? Its been a long time since I had one apart and I want to make sure I get it all back together correctly. thanks :beer
Hi Larry - I scanned and uploaded the 4-speed Muncie shifter page from my assembly manual. http://www.stage1registry.com/Misc/Muncie_Shifter_Assembly.jpg I hope this helps (and is legible for you) - you could probably print it out. Happy New Year!
Marco, what I really need is an assembly diagram of the shifter itself. I even checked the Hurst web sight and they show the same pics of assembly onto the trans. thanks for going to the trouble to scan tha page for me!
Larry, it's hard part, then thin part then hard part then thin part, then hard part and bolt it together, if I remember right. My '68 GS 350 4 speed, used to lock up on my parent's driveway, and I'd grab the wrench and get it out of gear. Then one day we went to this speed shop, I think it was in Cortland NY and bought a generic Indy Hurst shifter and replaced all the guts in the orginal Buick shifter and that's about 28 yrs ago and it's still much better than the one in the '68 GS 400 that I had rebuild by Mr Gasket/Hurst! I'll look this weekend, for some info, if no one comes up with anything in the meantime. Might also email Dave Hemker As he is also a guru on 4speeds.
i have a diagram....its in the GTO resto guide...i might post a pic....if a few people beg, and tell me how cool i am...:bla:
