I recently decided to go the twin turbo 350 route as you did some time ago. I was wondering how your project was coming along. Mine is still in the planning stage and I wanted to pick your brain a bit-if you didn't mind.

It seemed as tho you had decided to box the carb as did I. I'm looking at a homemade carb. box. Have you seen ANYTHING as to how much space should be left between the top of the box and the top of the carb.?

For anyone who cares here are few more details on my future engine. Forged pistons (duh), MSD 6 BTM timing master, Q-Jet, 3-4 in. exhaust, 8.5 compression, 10psi max boost , external waste gates and one or two BOVs (I haven't decided), log style turbo manifolds, two t3 turbos, and maybe even water injection for good measure. The planning is in it's early stages and could change. I had wanted to do a 455TT, but I would had to have removed the A/C. THAT is NOT in option in AZ.

Darryl, I will not copy your engine as that would be something a Chevy owner would do. :moonu: I was hoping you knew something I didn't.:Do No:

Hi guys this thread caught my eye as i am in the early stages of making my 350 turbo charged also i was wondering what type of innercooler you planned on using or were you not going to go with one. A company called CAS has a front mount made for grand nationals that is twin turbo not sure on the price, but i was going to think of using that or going only one turbo like in my GN, for a much lower cost.
Anyhow just throwing something, if you can keep me informed, oh and what size carb are you planning on using in this setup

    Thanks Robert

At the level of boost I plan to run, intercooling is a MUST! I haven't decided what I/C(s) to run or how many. I will consult with the pros on that one. You need to have one that flows enough for your application, keeps pressure loss down, and is effective in cooling the intake charge. There are multiple tradeoffs to be considered, though.

I will use my BB 750cfm Q-Jet . If that doesn't work I'll look at a Holley or Demon.

I also plan to use some home brewed octane boost (formula from the Turbo Regal site) for good measure. I like to be cautious.

AZ-69 Skylark, if you're going to run twin turbo's on that 350, you may look around for the stock 86/7 GN/TR turbo's...They will be plenty for the 350 and can pretty much be bought fairly cheaply from the GN crowd that are upgrading to bigger turbo's...

Actually, thinking about it a little bit, it would make plumbing the turbo's in easier if you got two identical turbo's that are mirror images of each other...Does that make sense??? Like a left hand and a right hand...

One of the really good turbo vendors that I have dealt with before and come to think of it, haven't heard any bad things about is John Craig @ Limit Engineering...He is one of the best out there, and have even met him at the GS Nats...

Thanks for the info. I allready have 2 T3 turbos, so I have that area covered. I just need to work out more details a little at a time.
