Not sure about those little Buicks, but in my E-body I could pull the needle off of the speedometer.

What you need is one of these, from a Swiss/Belgium built car:

I sold a few of those to board members in Canada, and also in the US.
Only have a KPH unit for a 1971-1974 full size Buick in stock now.

This German company sells KPH stickers for Chevelles, no need to remove the needle:

Thanks, I visited their website before and they do not list the 1970 Buick. I did not think about other A-bodies, like you suggested. They also have a sticker for an Oldsmobile which seems to be a good fit:

I will give it a shot and contact them.
    Thanks for your hint.

Let us know if you find something there, always handy to know [IMG]

The next time I come across a Swiss/Belgian speedometer for an early 70's A-body Buick, I will contact you.

    Pull lightly and twist counterclockwise.

Thanks, so it is just a tight fit, no locking or indexing?

Thanks, today I dared and I was able to remove the needle.
Just wondering what it would mean when Redmanf1 would state "pull firm" :)
I had to pull quite a bit and actually used my miniature Stanley wonder bar.
Different subject: does anybody know what kind of special paint is used inside the pot?

A fork works good too. That’s what I used on my clock to remove second hand.
