Me too .......... thanks Jay for doing this. Photos are so crisp and instructions were clear. And yes marking the old one is a cool trick - would have never thought of that. I was going to invite you to my shop but would be embarrassed by my dirt floors and ratty work bench. You have a great spot to work and it looks like you even have conditioned air - Wow!
    thanks

I believe that 37* (?) and 45* flares are used throughout automobile systems (i.e., brakes, fuel, etc). which ones for brake systems and which ones for fuel systems?
Thanks for the informative and very professional "How to" thread, by the way.

Thanks Dan! 45 degree inverted flares are basically used throughout our cars. 37 degree, I believe is for AN style fittings

I took a stab at this today:

Max Damage I'm working on it!

Looks good! Did that flaring tool do the job for you? I had a later, cheaper, made in China version of that tool which caused me no end of frustration and wasted time and material.

When I upgraded to a Rigid Tool version of the same idea, everything was fantastic.

It did, yes and I followed Cook's directions to a t.

I think I speak for the rest of the group when I say that going forward: all of Cook's how to's should be done via video.

    I mean, it is 2023, so...:D

Looks good, reminds me to reread this thread before attempting again. I can make them pretty, make them fit, and make them work. But rarely all 3

Who manufactures your "go-to" bender? Is it the "Klein Tools 89030 Professional 4-in-1 Tube Bender"?
