this has got to be a trick question, right. ou: "8" is the number of cylinders. "V" is the configuration of the block. some alternative block configurations would be straight / "I"-8, radial or boxer / horizontally opposed.
Let's not forget the 16 cylindrical holes for the lifters.  +8 more cylindrical holes for the spark plugs. yeah, i know i'm taking a serious risk here ( oh noes, the interweb ego pain! ) by giving him the straight line ... but maybe he really doesn't know? :idea2: so all you all's can go ahead and give any punch line you can come up with; i can take it.
And the Bonus Question is: How many cylinders does a V-8 have? o No: o No: o No: o No: o No: o No: o No: o No:

I give up..................what does THAT mean? Your V8 question has been answered several times in this thread (the answer is 8 by the way). Anybody that knows anything at all about engines would know the answer. So what is your point in all the smart comments? Just curious.
I was about to post pretty much the same thing. Unless this is a test for the kids on the short bus, it's some kind of a joke, but a joke with out a punch line pretty much takes us back to the same little bus.

A few years ago there was this 1950 Buick for sale here in the Netherlands, the seller said in the advertisement that the car had a "V8 inline engine"....
