My wifes 69 Skylark has the same drivetrain as yours and her 100% 1969 Buick Skylark SEDAN will leave my 2005 EFI 4X4 GMC crew cab truck in the dust! I got a factory 4 barrel intake and numbers matching quadrajet to rebuild and put on it, but thats about it. Put true dual exhaust on your Skylark, good tires, and a 4 barrel and you will be happy. Nothing smaller then a 750 CFM quadrajet (preferably a 850). They are easy to rebuild, good on gas, performance, and will work with a upgraded engine if you choose to cam it, headers, etc

I would not spend the money on any of those efi systems. Get a q-jet and enjoy it. A well tuned q-jet will run just as good as those efi systems and offer the same mileage and performance.

i just replaced a well tuned quadrajet from quadrajet performance with a holley super sniper. out of the box, there was no comparison. the car starts up instantly when cold as if it was a warm start. i can move the car when cold without it stumbling. throttle response is incredibly snappy. cruises much smoother. more power in low and mid range. 67 skylark with 69 430. edelbrock performer, hei, 226/246 113 cam, 2004r trans, aeromotive stealth2 tank. I have no regrets on this build.

Completed install a while back just thought I’d put my feed back out there. First off a Holley throttle extension is a must. Not enough accelerator travel in my opinion. As for the rest started up flawlessly. Did the idle adjustments then drove no issues. Going to the second step of spark control once I’m happy with the fuel tune.
