    Jeff:

Any observation is of just street driving my new combo. So there's no iron clad numbers to back anything up, its just kind of a quick overview, since there is not much action to your thread, but here's my experience.
I have a 9375, that is as you know a 1050. The most I've done is played a little with the jetting and set the float levels. Currently 88 jets in front and 89 jets in rear. I haven't had it to the track yet, so tuning is strictly by ear and feel. Its a street car running a front half 3 1/2" mandrel system with a smooth "X" and 3" tailpipes and Scott Brown long case mufflers. But even with no choke and the mid 40 temps we're having it will easily start and within a minute or so can idle at around 1,000 rpm. It has no bad habits that I've found yet and pulls strong to the 6K mark that I've taken it to on the street. Its a pump gas 11.7 to 1 JE piston, alum. head (Stage 3) that flows in the 350 range on the intakes with pretty good low numbers. Solid roller cam, billet rod, block and lifter girdles, 1/2 fill, etc...
Makes for a fun street car even with the 4.33 gears & SP400 trans and stock GM-1 convertor. I have to do something with the trans/convetor setup. Looking to go ATI or Coan 10" or similar with something in the 4,000 rpm stall area & as tight as I can get on top. Enough rambling. Hope others chime in with other Dominator experiences.

    Jeff,
I have a $50 swap meet 4575 1050 dominator. 1970's version that I chipped the alcohol barnicals out of milled the top off and it works great. The last guy that used it ran alky through it and let it sit, not pretty. Got it cleaned up pretty good. I also have an 1150 9377 that I haven't tried yet.

There are basically two Dominators you will see on Buicks - the 8896 and the 9375, both 1050's. The 8896 is a standard down leg booster and the 9375 is an annular booster with an intermediate circuit. According to Holley and others, the annular boosters are recomended for lower RPM (low air speed) and/or heavy cars. The intermediate circuit helps part throttle transition between the idle circuit and main circuit. Since our Buicks typically only turn 6000 to 7000 RPM's they qualify as the lower end of the RPM scale for Dominators. Holley actually lists the 9375 as a "tunnel ram" carb. This just means that the air bleeds, emulsifier tubes, etc are sized with the idea of having another carb on the same motor. It doesn't mean you can't use it by itself, though. The carb on my car is a 9375 from BG Fuel Systems that I bought used. BG does all of their magic to the carb, and also adjusts the passages and bleeds for a single carb set-up. When I got mine it started and ran great until the motor warmed up, then it would die. Long story, but I called BG and got their standard sizes for air bleeds (There are 3 on this carb per venturi). Once I put the bleeds back to where BG started, it works great. By the way, their standard jet size is 92 square. If you have to venture much away from that, look for trouble somewhere else in the car.

I've never compared a 9375 and an 8896 back to back. Someone else may have. I'd like to see that info. I'd also like to try an 1150 and 1250 on my car. My computer simulator says it will make more power, but that may not be real world.

    Have fun.

I am looking at getting a bigger carb like a 9377 1150 or a 80532 1250. Like to hear feed back on all the Mod Carb like QFT BG and any other Carb Mods. Have Buick Racers tryed a HP over the older Carbs

I have been running a 4150 1000 cfm holley pro I put on a 8896 1050 with that 1/2 adaptor to fit the 4150 flange and the car was a dog lost .2 and 3 mph but i think it had alot to with the adaptor and the fact that it was to close to the stock hood I going to try it next year with a 4500 spx and the stage II scoop

    Identify this carb?

I am hoping someone can help me ID this dominator. I cant quite make out the numbers in the photo but I thought someone who is familiar with them could make sense out of them. A friend of mine is going to give it to me and Im wondering what it its. I wont be using it on my car but thought it might be worth something as trading stock.
