Ask anyone in NHRA dragracing. There is no such thing as cheating unless you get caught! If you think Dudek does not cheat then you must believe that Al-Quaida does not want to kill you!

I guess then Wayne and Jim are also cheaters. :3gears: I don't think theirs anything wrong in questioning something that may need to be questioned. :) That would be the same if someone wanted to question something on the vette or Hemi.

I think I need another word for "question"

Seems as though a few of the "Year One" posters seem to confirm Aluminum heads.

Im browsing through all the threads and posts on this matter, I dont see any posts by Mr. Dudek about this. Unless of course I missed one. I thought I had read that Mr. Dudek knew about the head situation and didnt care. Seems his opinion would be the one that matters

I can't believe it still hasn't been confirmed or denied by someone involved.

If the aluminum heads had been discussed prior to the race then thats one thing, but if they had not been discussed and the F.A.S.T rules were what was agreed on prior to the race then the Buick guy cheated plain and simple even if the Hemi driver said fine lets race anyway (thats if the heads were in fact aluminum) dont get me wrong.. I'm 100% Buick but i dont like Games like that, no matter who plays them. gives Buick owners a black eye

The bottom line is that nobody knows what really went on behind the scenes. Everyone is just speculating. We just dont know what was discussed. Were you there? Neither was I. So all we have to go on is a picture and a bunch or heresay and rumor. The principals need to step up and have some sort of a press conference about the matter.

I seem to recall that everyone is innocent until proven guilty. All we have is curcumstancial evidence.

So far 3-4 posters combined on "Year One" and Mopar have stated without a doubt the heads were aluminum. They seem to be pretty convincing based on their explanation of what they see in the picture.

I haven'y heard one Buick guy step up and say different. :(

If they were aluminum heads. And I say (If). Do you really expect anyone from Jims camp to step up and say so. :Dou:

Someone on one of these threads posted "If it smells, walks and looks like a duck." Well it probably is one.

I agree with you about the heads. Im convinced they were aluminum. What Im trying to get at is the fact that maybe it was agreed upon. Nobody from either camp has spoken about it. Either way, its really moot. The Buick lost. Does it really matter at this point.

Wayne Nelson who drove the L88 vette that day posted this on page 1 of this thread. Notice he uses the word "illegal". The guys knew the rules.

Why wasn't Greg Gessler invited to compete in this shootout? He has been carrying the Buick banner in FAST racing for several years and kicking butt, I may add.

Why did the Buick pass tech then? Dont they check these cars out prior to the race?

It was well known we were using F.A.S.T rules. The problem was,NONE of us really knew what a Buick Head should look like.We really didnt know Jim too well, and didnt want to start pointing fingers without actually knowing(for sure) the heads were illegal.Jim's a nice guy and nobody really wanted to start off on the wrong foot,I guess.?

the fact that he lost makes it even better for the other guys.. now people can say "the buick guy cheated and still didnt win"
