Well, it seems like every couple of years I get involved in this.

    Here's the deal
To raise money for muscular dystrophy they take people like me from local businesses and "lock us up" for an hour.
It's all part of the theme for the fundraiser and I'm suppose to raise $1,600 in bail for Muscular dystrophy to get out.
I think that everyone knows all about this disease and the effort that the muscular dystrophy association has put into trying to find a cure and help the kids with it.
Here's what this donation goes to.

Donations to MDA provide help and hope in many ways:

Clinics - expert specialized medical care
Research - cutting-edge investigation into treatments and cures
Support - help obtaining equipment and coping with challenges
Camp - a barrier-free week of fun, friendship and laughter for kids
And so much more - visit mda.org for information on how MDA makes a difference to people around the country and in your community.

I would like to be able to say that the car hobby, and the Buick people made a difference.

If anyone feels like helping out with a tax deductible donation, they can go to this web site.

Every dollar helps and any size donation adds up to help the cause.

    Thanks guys!

They did that here in my town as well. I got contacted as a local business owner and basically recruited to do this. After I got the info packet and looked it over I decided not to do it and planned on just making a donation. Within a week I was getting hounded on my business line by the organizers pushing me to hit up my friends and business acquaintances for donations. They wanted 2500.00 from me. After about a week of this I got fed up and told them to stop calling, take me off the list. I will make my donation at the local MDA car show later this year.

This is the last time that I'll do this also.
If I get called again, I'll just say no thanks.
Last time around I hit my business contacts, I can't hit them again. In fact I won't hit anyone a second time since that is pushy and these aren't exactly bountiful times right now.
Money is tight for most people and I don't want to go back to the same people again.
Besides, every time someone helps you out with something like this you get to repay twice!
