Help removing 61 Lesabre Upper Ball Joint

    Wow! what kind of torch did you use to get it that hot? 6 foot breaker bar probably had the side benefit of keeping your hands from getting too hot as well.

    Oxy Acetylene but we had to heat it for about 25-30 mins non stop go round and round to get and keep it hot, even then couldn't get it to "crack", at one stage I had my whole body weight on the breaker bar and it didn't move. Interesting thing is that these arms were off a junked car that was at a junk yard for over 20 years. No front fenders for most of that time so they were quite exposed. surprising no rust on the arms, but holy cow that much weathering sure made these two parts decide they really did not want to be parted.
