    Help!

I am installing a stage 2 scoop on a stock 71 Skylark hood. Do people have a template for cutting tho air cleaner hole? How do I properly place the scoop on the top?

Also, what are people using as the base of the air cleaner assembly to seal against the bottom of the hood?

    Any advice is appreciated.

    Thank you,
    John

Post number 141 in my build thread (link in my signature) shows when we cut mine. I just taped a marker to the air cleaner stud, lowered the hood till it touched and made a mark, then cut a small hole. Closed the hood all the way with a longer threaded rod protruding through the small hole, attached a string to the stud and tied the marker onto the string at the radius of the size hole I wanted, then used that to draw the nice circle. Cut it with the plasma cutter. As far as air filter setup, I dont have a pan that seals (I've threatened to build one for a while but havent gotten around to it), but I have a conical filter by airaid that fits perfectly. Protrudes a few inches into the scoop, and leaves just enough gap so that the filter doesnt hit the edge of the hole.

You can see the filter in this picture
