  1. New to the forum. Just got my car about 6 months ago. The wife call it the money pit. Nothing most haven't heard before I'm sure. It is a 72 skylark turned into gsx. Love the car but needs some love. A new Moog suspension about to go in soon. Body is really solid. I'm trying to go as OE as possible but some of my own twists. Are the stock air cleaners really that hard to find ? And that expensive? Can't believe nobody makes a resto version. Thanks guys. I'm sure I'll have 20 million more questions.

Welcome! Restorable '72 Air cleaners come up for sale. $350-400 should buy a pretty decent one. Create a thread in the parts wanted section.

    Welcome from Florida!

I think the 72 GS air cleaner has the triangle shaped intake duct on the right side, to clear the smog pump put on the 72 motors.

I have a fully restored with new hardware 70-71 in the parts section for sale. I know they’re different but if you’re not running the smog pump this is the one.

  7. That's correct. I can find all but the base to that setup. Also it is a 72 car with a 70 engine. No smog pump

  9. That's a nice piece! I guess first things first. She's about to go in and have front to back moog suspension installed. Could be added cost. Thanks for all the help. Probably not the last ill be bumping around blindly around the forum. I appreciate the patience.

    BUICKRAT Got any treats?

Seeing as you have no smog pump, could you just use the 70-71 style? Much easier to find parts for.
