Up for grabs here is a Factory Headlight Ground Tab for the 1970 - 1972 Skylark, GS & GSX

Because Buick used a Plastic Dash Bezel it is required to Ground the Headlight Switch!

Photo below shows the Factory Grounds for the Headlight Switch and the Wiper Switch.
(I have Wiper Switch Ground Tabs also available)

These should be in use for each switch to work properly.

Each one shown here installed correctly

$10.00 Plus Shipping. (Could possibly mail this in an envelope for the price of a stamp?!?!)

    NOTE
    - Some of these parts are reproduced however because Buick used a Plastic Dash Bezel you must Ground the Cigarette Lighter Housing and unfortunately the reproductions do NOT have the Ground Tab!

I have a bunch of Dash Trinkets which I've been adding to my website's OE Parts Section as time permits.
Now that my car is done I'm thinning out all of the parts I've been keeping for years to make more room in the shop. So if you need something be sure to check out my website's OE Parts Section and if you don't see what you need feel free to contact me as I have many more parts that will be going on the site as time permits.

Todd it's funny you should mention this. Sometimes I will put my wipers on and I can;t turn them off. Thinking my switch is bad but could it just be a bad ground? Would the problem be right at the switch if a bad ground?

Can't say for sure but a bad ground can and will always cause issues!!

I do have a nice OEM wiper switch I'd sell for $15 if needed. I have 5 or 6 of the ground spades.

Are there specific signs of this being needed?
My car will di fine with the lights on until I hit the brights then the lights go on and off until I turn them off and leave them on dim.

A ground is 100% definitely needed. Whether or not that is your cars specific problem is hard to tell without a bit more digging . . . I would start there though!

The reproduction headlight switches I sell have a ground tab built right into the switch so you can use that as well. (If you're considering replacing the switch)

To learn more and see photos regarding the factory ground or the ground tab located on the headlight switch I offer simply click here > https://www.stage1restoration.com/product/switch-headlight/

    Hope this helps! :)

Thank you Todd! I assume that the dash has to be taken out to access this?

On Non A/C cars you may be able to unscrew the switch, slide the Ground Tab in place and then re-attach the screw without taking the dash out. Less room to work with on A/C cars due to the ducting.

Tedious job that requires patience and you must use caution any time you're messing with the Headlight Escutcheon as you don't want to break it. HARD part to locate! ( I do have 2 available on the website if needed)

Use caution anytime you're installing or removing a Headlight Switch as the part below is only plastic and will break if to much stress is put on it!!

It comes out from under the dash on AC and non AC cars. The plastic duct piece under the dash needs to come out, and possibly the flex duct to the upper vent.

I'm out, I have a 69 so my switch looks different than 70-72 I think. My question was more out of curiosity anyhow so I'm all set for now thanks.
