Head locating dowels

Are the 2 dowels reversible? Meaning, can either side of the dowel go in the block. Thanks.

 

sure, clean them and reinstall. I like to grind a little bevel on them to help.Also I use a bronze hammer so as not to put a burr on the end to hinder head install.

 

Thanks for the tip on the hammer. . Must not have one down all the way or it has a burr on it. The head isnt sitting right.
