Have any of you ever seen this Centurion in real life or know the owner?

Ya its cool alright. I have thought of the same thing and everyone told me Im crazy but in my mind, I wanted what I wanted. I have called Stockton a while back and they said the would do it but I havent found a nice enough set of rims worth dropping that kind of money on to widen them and I wasnt sure of my measurments.

Of course your formula would work on stock steel wheels also for use with dog dish, so thats an option.

All i need to know is what the original backspace was before widening and I can duplicate your set up. I guess there is no way to know unless you measured the current backspace next time you change brakes or something.

Looking forward to those pictures from all the differnt angles. Its nice to meet someone who has actually done what I only have dreamed about.

To confirm, this 1973 Buick Centurion is owned Srecko Novakovic of Spring Grove,IL. Srecko is a close friend and I was there when he bought the car in central IL many years ago before he restored it. To this day I remember him driving it away from its previous owner when another guy was about 20 minutes too late with his trailer.

Facts about the car are that it does have a built 455 with Stage 1 Heads, B4B, Edelbrock carb, TA Shorty headers with electric cut offs, 3" exhaust, 3.42 posi from a Riv GS with sway bar. If anyone remembers, he took it down the track at the 2007 GS Nationals and smoked the tires almost half way down the track.

His black paint job is astonishing. It was done at the shop I worked at in 2000/2001. It was totally stripped down to bare metal and redone. To all who know about black cars, it takes a lot of time to make the body panels look like glass. The body man who worked on car is my wife's cousin and to this day he tells the story of the hours he spent on that car. I actually found Srecko the NOS hood off Ebay cause Centurion hoods unlike Lesabres and Electras do not have portholes. He kept the Lesabre hood that was on the car when it was sold to him.

To all that don't know Srecko, just want to tell you he is a great man with great BUICKS. His other Buick is a rare 1969 GS Colorado.

    Lastly,

For those inquiring about the wheels.

The BUICK MAGS are 15x6 fronts and 15x7 rears. He had 235/70/15s on the fronts but then switched to 255/70/15s cause it road better. The rears are 275/60/15s. He has heavy duty rear coils that were taller than stock and it has a bad ass stance.

so he has 255/60/15 on 6" rims and 275/60/15 on 7" rims. Is that right?

Also, so what was his actual quarter mile time?

    Gary,

Actually had lunch with Srecko today. The fronts are back to 235/70/15s on 6 inch rims and rears are 275/60/15s. They both are 28 inches tall. As so far as whitewalls vs blackwalls vs white letters, Srecko has had all three sets on the car. They all looked good, but his preference was the raised white letters. He actually has a set of beautiful whitewall tires on 15x6 rims that are 255/70/15 and they are a 30" diameter. They looked real nice, but he really wanted to have that 275/60/15 on the rear to give it the stance.

I liked his tire set up so much, I did the same to mine, but went with INDY 500 tires before Firestone stopped making them. Here is a pic.

PS. BRAD, Srecko told me he took of the glass fuel filter a long time ago. The picture here is a few years old.:TU:
