Well seeing how I head the the class and have the perfect foundation for an entry just sitting here,..I may as well get to work

    65 Skylark post
    Back half car
    Art Morrison ladder bar frame
    9in 35spline spool with 410 gear,..nay swap to a 430 or 456 due to tire height
    31x18 MT drag radials
    Sander Beadlocks 15x14 and 15x5s
    Global west TLC front suspension

Engine: Cody Gamble build 475cid,..half full,..no girdle. I will be doing something I've been wanting to do regarding the side of the block with a solid engine mount and heavy plate that uses all three engine mount holes
    aluminum GRP rods
Diamond pistons,..stage TE heads,..full port work,..with 2.26 valves,..solid flat tappet,....tunnel ram with two 950 AED carbs,.. and seriously considering a jesel rocker setup
    SRE covers and pan
Hope to see 750~800hp around 7k

    Transmission: th400 with a nice 8in converter

Cage: 8pt I got with the car with a 10pt conversion

I've got really nice trim for the car so while I'm not after a Beauty queen here it will certainly display well

I'll post pics in a couple weeks once I catch up on some customer work and dig it back out of the corner,...IT will be a roller in very short order as I have everything here to get that far. Then it's all the little things

I thought no back half cars? And stock suspension required?

Nah,....always been open to big tire cars,...power adders also its a very open class,...the requirements revolve around appearance more than anything,...we aren't interested in clapped out bracket cars that barely get out of their own way

Ideally In the future that's been the goal,...a tire limit and stock style suspension,...but for now it's wide open

Where are the rules for this class? Is this a GS nats class?

I'm actually been slowly crawling out from under work load,..buried myself,..but I'll have this bad boy back under way here soon,..won't make 2023,..but planning on running in 24. This coming year I'll be running BSA in my 70 X

Engine plan has changed I'll be using the tunnel ram I built with an aluminum rod solid flat tappet 482 topped with some worked Stage 1 TEs,...built by our class sponsor Cody Gamble should see close to 800hp I'm hoping with somewhat mild comp

I was under the impression from looking at the gs nats site that GSR was a heads up class but looking at the link here it mentions dial in ,breakout Wording that sounds like it’s bracket racing

Pro tree bracket style on a .400 tree.

It's a tight group for the most part so pIring can be as close as a tenth or 2 apart,..never more than 2 sec and that's very rare

So is there an actual heads up class, anywhere?

You're more than welcome to come run whoever you like from the GSR heads up if you like between rounds

If we had the enthusiasm we once did we could hane a heads up class again BUT that's why GSE dwindled the guys with the deep pockets prevailed most often,....when a fella shows up 5tenths or even a full sec faster than the rest of field guys get discouraged and move on,...now with that being said I myself have no issues with power adders,..so a heads up class is possible IF Buick guys will embrace them BUT blowing a 250 hit thru a 700hp NA combo is gonna result a lot of oil downs,...so it's a double edge sword.

That's why I feel like a heavily ruled heads up class would be the only viable option,..for heads up,...limit it to iron heads,..28in tire,...full exhaust,...Cid limit,..etc etc then you could somewhat keep it under control because there are only Maybe 3 iron head full weight deals in the 9s,....so you would have a field of low 11 and mid 10 sec cars.

Pipe dream imo,...but fun to think about

Pretty much where it's at now,..gotta get some spindles to build the front suspension,..i have GW TLC arms and viking crusader shocks along with some moog springs that with a 455 on them offer plenty of stored energy

Viking Rear coilovers and rear brakes are still on the to get list to get it rolling
