Hmmmmm. Well, I only passed on what I was told by Richard. I guess it was bad info. And no, I am not the race director nor did I have anything to do with the above post. I will say I am a bit confused by it all though in so much as who can test and who cannot. Oh well.
Yea, I read that vomit few hrs ago, I will say Carswell speaks differently on the phone than he does on the keyboard, and still hasn't made the effort to come on here. He obviously read the threads, and as to "Keyboard Hero" and "clowns" comment well I can say that's a matter that will be discussed in person.
I was at the GS Nationals in 2013 and 2014 and I didn't see any non-Buicks/non-Buick-powered cars testing & tuning...
Wow.... I knew this was going in the wrong direction. I'll refrain from saying any more on this topic, since I won't be racing this year. BTW.... I'll have race tickets available for a discounted price... one for each day. Since I just sold my car and there are no refunds, I figure I'll give someone a deal if they are interested. If interested just PM me, but please keep it off this post. Steve
I think it will be only if it rains! If this has been going on for 8 years and nobody noticed, then it's probably won't be a big thing this year.
I agree. And if it helps keep the Nats going then so be it. No Nats and I no longer see the many friends from out of town that go. And that would be a sad state of affairs.
All, I can say for sure that regardless of what you read on the net, there will be NO "open" non Buick test and tune in BG. Now, if a member in attendance wants to run his rental Caddy or other something interesting down the track he may be allowed as in the past. But absolutely no open test and tune. No need pondering or asking a bunch of questions that I dont have the answer to. This came straight from Lasseters mouth, face to face not 20 minutes ago. So everyone needs to take a deep breath and relax. One exception. Apparently a "Renegade" class has been proposed by members, and will be run this year. I dont know particulars so dont ask. But this could possibly be the reason for any non Buick powered Buicks in attendance. My buddy Perry Carlini put it best a few days ago. He said "We are going to go to BG, and we are going to drink, we are going to eat, we are going to race, we are going to laugh and we are going to have a great time like we always do". And that sums it up for me. So, my suggestion is for all of us to take a step back, cut the Nats people a little slack, stop pointing fingers, and just go to BG and enjoy the cars and the limited time we have to see friends that we only see once a year. Hope to see you all in BG.
I believe the Renegade class was the same as at the Norwalk Buick race last year. Great group and some nice cars.
Just to clarify, the Renegade class is the first of its kind at ANY Buick event. Here are the particulars: V6 vs. V8 shootout is on. Friday Night at the Nationals Heads up - .400 pro tree - 16 car ladder - 1/8 mile Buick Body and / or Buick Powered door cars Single power adder 10.5 / 275 tires Run what you brung. The drop off I was worried about with after the Super 16 Reunion , it sounds like will be no issue whatsoever. The turbo heads up and GS classes seem like they will have quite a field. Plus 1965 Reunion and car show. Just pray for great weather. I know I am watching the weather as we speak! 11 days to go till the Tri Shields take over BG:laugh:
