I'm hoping to be there displaying some of my "NailHead" wares along with Denny & we will then share some of our "War" stories with each other.

I really like the idea of making it a B.O.P. show. That would bring the numbers up "might not be much the first year" but they would grow year over year. If you don't have the cars your will stop having the spectators. The 80s were the years that I was going and there was plenty to see.

Make a push for people to bring their cars, I was considering coming without it but if it will help the cause I would be glad to.

Bring cars in any condition, maybe create a class and award points for incorrect items (misplaced emblems should get double points)

That'd be awesome Tom. Denny's display last year I think was a hit & finally getting a chance to meet him was certainly a highlight for me. Would be great to meet you this year as well.

I really like this idea mentioned before.
Last year, there were a few people wearing name tags with the user v8buick user ID on their name tag.
I was able to see Dano's at one time and felt that helped. Also Briz and John had some too
    We should all do this.

As I'd emailed to Carl (I never got any reply & even sent a follow-up so...) there needs to be at least a designated area to park all the work-in-progress/non-show cars together (I'd suggested where the GSXs were parked last year). I can't really see dragging mine 700 mi. ea. way w/o at least that & tbh not sure I could get it together to do so this year anyway. My truck needs work & I probably already have too many big parts to bring but it's not out of the question either - I'd have to put the parts in the truck & couldn't bring the slide-in camper.

There's always a risk hauling a car, there's increased fuel, trailer wear/tear (or rental), and it'd probably add 1-2 hours in drive time ea. way.

I bought 3-4 packs of the name tags and some markers n handed them out to as many guys as I could until they were gone. Maybe the tag(s) could be handed out with the registration package when ya sign up for the show or race stickers or be made available at the tent

I was at the Nationals a few years ago and saw a little kid in a battery powered car run right into one of the concours cars.

Every concours show in the country is in the grass . Granted they may be a golf course , but still . Blacktop sucks when it’s hot out .

The rest of the show is in the blacktop circle track area. Years ago the whole show used to be in the grass in the campground which was really nice. If the concours show (other than lasst year is usually only a few cars) is in kept the grass, it should be different grass than where it is. I'm sure it started out with good intentions of having the cars in a very prominent location but there's way too much traffic. It's on a grass island where your can get 2 rows of cars with traffic on both sides (including mini bikes, golf carts, etc.). The dust it kicks up is bad enough but I'm afraid it's only a matter of time before there's an accident & a show car is damaged.

Someone just sent this to me today. Anyone else heard this rumor that the Buick GS Nationals FB page has planted about this year being the last? Anyone know who runs this FB group? I imagine that Richard L's phone has been ringing today. I may call him myself.

I saw that on FB this morning. No idea who wrote it or where it came from. Maybe just someone trying to increase attendance this year...

To ask a question (One I'm sure that has been asked before).........
Why not make it possible for the Judges to go over the issues of your car after judging like they do at the MCACN show? i know it'd open up possibly a lively discussion, but is it the difference in a 1000 point show and a 400 point show?

With the money you spend to have your car judged at MCACN I would expect that level of information.

The GSCA Concours judging is set up so a copy of your judging form will be mailed out after the show.

The sheet will spell out exactly which areas had point deductions, and often list exactly what was wrong.

There is no way the Judges would have the time to do anything like this at the show. It often takes till 2:00 PM to get everything tallied up on the sheets. There were many days when I didn’t get to eat lunch until after 2PM.

Now this is what they do for the Concours class. I have no idea what they do for the other classes.

When I was judging, I often got asked to go over the sheets. Usually the guys would call me on the phone to go over them.
