I have a 70 GS Stage 1 with a factory 4 speed. I'm experiencing grinding when shifting into reverse. Somebody told me it was the syncro's but would like to get some more experienced answers. Thanks!

Avoid this entirely by going to first, and THEN reverse. Standard procedure on Muncies and BW transmissions; probably others too. Otherwise, you just need to disengage the clutch long enough to allow the driven disc to stop spinning; might take as much as 5 to 10 seconds.

X2 on what Brad said. Reverse gear is a straight cut gear and that is why it grinds.
