Greetings from the land of rust - 455 Riv Oil Pan?

    Good day people,

I'm new to this site and a relatively new owner of a 1971 Riviera (this is my third summer with it (her?)).
Being from Toronto, finding any car, let alone a 46 year old car, without a ton of rust is difficult. So when I found my dream car with minor rust in a town nearby, I was jumped on it (figuratively).
That being said, of course there are still some areas of rust. The one that concerns me right now is the leaking oil pan. I'm looking for a replacement but it seems most of the 455 pans are rear-sump. Apparently the Riviera was one of the only 455s with a centre-sump pan.
So..... my question to you, my knowledgeable Buick brethren, is... Are these available? New or used.

(oh, by the way, although it is a 1971, I discovered the engine is actually from a '75 Riv..... would that make a difference at all? I assume the parts are all the same with the possible exception of the emission equipment)

    Thanks!
    Andy

I am no expert, but take a look at TA1511E. My old TA catalog shows it at $165.

I thought the 71-73 Rivs had the rear sump. At least my 73 does. I believe the center sump was 67-70 only .

My 72 and my 73 both had rear sumps...........
My 71 DID have its oil pan rust out from the outside in!

Thanks for the quick replies! Looks like I'm going to have to get under it and figure out exactly what I have! I had read somewhere these had center sumps but sounds like that might not be the case! Either way, TA Performance seems to have them both (anyone know if they're any good?). Thanks all.
