Tim from TA called me a bit ago, asked if I still wanted my heads, told him YES!
He said with everything going on it wont be till after first of the year.
They have the 350 head castings but they need machined then my level 2 porting.
Reason he called was my order is in the backorder file, he said they'll move it to the "current" orders
Oh well, just a bit longer;)

Wow. Didn't you put a deposit down so you were placed on the get-r-done list?

If it was a company other than TA, I would have told send me my deposit back, but I trust 'em:cool:
My heads that are on the engine now I believe have cracks around the valve guide area.

Very sad and very true. Skilled labor is hard to find these days.

TA might want to try reaching out to some of the tech schools like SAM tech. While it is true that it’s hard to find quality help, they are out there. You just have to be willing to pay.there’s qualified people at Schools like SAM.Also investing in equipment to make as much parts in the house as possible.

Patience is a Buick racers middle name. Chevy guys have no idea how easy they have it . i know they have some supply issues also but they also have multiple choices in many cases. I salute those of you that have that patience. Its almost as bad as having your car in painters jail.

There are countless facilities around the country that could and would finish the heads and other parts off site. I'm certain profit and prices would be altered......but the backlog would get processed through

I might pull the engine this fall in anticipation of installing the heads early spring 2022

How come nobody wants to step into this ring you want the 350 to smoke ars try it. You get big modified block power
Obviously, everything else as far as power adder takes years.

The reason why I dont want nitrous is its temporary.
To me its like a drug, " I love being buzzed, but when Im sober I feel like ****"
I wanna feel good all the time without any drugs.
But thats just me, I wanna do it N/A:D
Yeah it seems as tho for the 350 guys its gonna take awhile, good thing I have other interests/distractions right now:D:eek:

Just an item of interest. On close inspection I have discovered that the threads in my new TA-Rover heads for the exhaust and the intake were double tapped. In other words the machinist ran the taps in once, backed them out and then ran them in again and cut a second thread right down the middle of the first one. This obviously took all the meat out of the thread, weakening it, and means I will have to install helicoils in every one of those. Not at ALL what I was expecting. And I can't send them back because they were the bare heads and I have already finished them out with valves and springs.
