14.54 to 13.65 in the same season is pretty impressive, what he 60 foots on the 13.65???

Thanks:TU: I have a bad habit of getting obsessed by this stuff!
    My 60' was 1.98
My RT was a dismal .510:Dou:
I admit Im a puss, I wait too long at the tree, I gotta start pushing the envelope, I leave as soon as the last yellow goes out.
A guy at work who races a turbo bike said leave when the last yellow is still on, as it take a few for your brain to respond, your foot to respond, the carb to respond, the car to respond, etc etc.

Your reaction time isn't counted on your QM time when you're test and tuning, the clock starts when your wheels cross the beam.

If you start bracket racing then you would need to get those times better so don't worry to much about that for test and tuning just try to make sure you're having fun! GL

Thanks Derek, I do have fun:grin:
I'd do this every evening after work if I could!
Shoulda never started doing this, LOL, but I like using my equipment for what it was designed for.
Car shows are nice but every car at a car show is an eleven sec. ride:bla:

How do you know they are 11 sec rides just because they say so does not mean they can. Ask them if they have ever been to the track. I have found most of the car show people never go to the track they just go to car shows and bench race based on how the engine is built and what the desktop dyno says, you know same as the Bench racers here. You been to the track you know the real world now.

I think Mark was being facetious.

It seems some show car guys get offended if you ask them if they've run the car at the track. They KNOW how fast it will go because some computer program told them their engine makes at least 500 HP, or more.

Right about that, I know someone that has a Corvette shop and the owner is always telling me he has to upgrade someones car because the other guy has 600 hp and now he wants 700. So another 4-5 grand later and he has it. He told me it is a real trip what these people do. Then they go out and smash it up because they can't handle their new found power.

Right. The rich people trying to 'one up' each other because they have everything else but an upgrade to their fragile egos and small penises.

    I was being sarcastic:pp
Kinda like some people saying they're having an engine built to make 1000 hp!
I think "whatever, lets see it run"

HaHa yeah, she's afraid of that car, she doesn't drive it like I do, I told her to respect the power, and when you do go to pass somebody, get in the other lane and straighten out the car, THEN give it some throttle/boost:shock:
Turbo's are totally different animals in how they deliver the goods!
Im sure that car would hand my GS its ass, but that's next season, this is costing enough this year LOL, but DAMN FUN THO!

Tom Wagner's girlfriend said some people helped her corral it in. Thank you for that. I went oblivious to tying it down when I realized I didn't bring any rope with me and it didn't seem to be moving at all while I was there so off I went down to the staging lanes. Thankfully there was no damage to the '76 after the canopy rolled right over it. Of course it would be tough to tell if anything new appeared anyway. Some of the crossbars were damaged and canvas torn so I went out and got a new canopy.

The only thing that occurred to me later was thank goodness that John Chamberlain pulled in right next to me after the incident. It would have been sheer terror to see that flipping over my car and onto his show stopping one-of-one paint color GS!:ball: (Me and him.)

You're welcome Mike. I'm glad it appears no damage was done. I saw it start to lift off but I was probably 40 yards away and am not that fast so I didn't get to it till it rolled over your car.

Back on topic, you've really made some strides Mark! Glad to see you wringing the tree-fiddy out. I think too many give up on it for a swap (I know, I'm the pot calling the kettle black) and personally I think if seeing a Buick is unique, seeing somebody put the time and effort in an sbb is even cooler! Kinda makes me wish i would've kept mine just for the double unique factor. Looking forward to the sequel to your and taulbs friendly little grudge match, that was too fun!

Thanks Shawn! I look forward to Justin and mines re-match:pp
I got my SP3 today, BUT........... Im going to the track (Norwalk) this Friday eve. to try and at least repeat my 13.65/98mph and hopefully better it. Then Im going to bolt on the SP3, with no other changes, same timing, same jetting. The only thing I cant keep the same will be the weather.
The one thing Im going to have done to the SP3 before it goes on is have the intake ports opened up to within .040/.060 of the gasket opening as Mike at TA suggested. Don't know how long Michaels Racing Engines will have the intake for this, as Im not going to attempt it:shock:

Good choice on where to go to get the intake port matched, he is the one that built my motor.

With no jetting changes it will not be optimum unless you were way rich before. You need to get the air fuel meter.

The open plenum single plane likes lots of accelerator pump shot and the Q jets uneven bore sizes will cause mixture distribution issues. A Holley is the only carb I would put on the SP3. 750 DP would be a good size.
