Not supposed to but I do. If you get loose it will likely oversteer and you'll lose it. But drag cars don't really handle well anyway with high pressure in front tires and low in the rear so it might not be that big of a deal whether you have radials or not, it will likely oversteer anyway.....

Did it for years....My buddy still does it on his full-weight 72 Skylark
    that runs 11.40's.

As long as the bias are in the front and the radials are in the rear you should be fine. Just don't do it the other way.....that's what I've always heard. It's about the tire growth in the bias ply.

    Here is my two cents.
Every slick out there has a different compound, It determines on weight, Clutch, convertor, and so on. I talk with several different guys like Mike Moran,Billy Glidden, and so on to get the information I need before buying any tire out there. every track is different. For Example My home track, George Ray's Wild Cat Dragway vs The House of Hook in Jackson, South Carolina, You cant hook period at George rays because of the track not being preped and The House of Hook, dam even a pair of sandles hook there. Another Example Norwalk,Ohio, vs Topeka drag strip, The Norwalk hooks hard but needs VHT to make it work very well where Topeka you have to have VHT and the rt compound tire to really hook as good as Norwalk. Call Goodyear,M/T,Hoosier, or any other slick manufacture out there and get their expert opinion. They have people like Billy Glidden testing tires for a reason.

I run Hoosier 13.5 x 32 Radial slicks. With the trans brake and the HP I have they need a VERY well prepped track to hook. At my local tracks it spins like it's on ice! Yes, that bad! In BG it hooks great doing a best of 1.21 60'. Locally it did a best of about 1.40. I'll be switching to the bias ply Hoosier this spring. I need more consistency from track to track.
I do really like the Hoosiers, but there are other good choices also.
