I need to rotate my tires. Is it front to back, or cross rotation?

Fronts criss crossed to the rear. Rears move up front

Jason...Isn't that the process for radials only?

    What would be the difference?

I also seem to remember that reversing rotation is a no-no for bias ply tires...

That's if you want to throw the spare in the mix

Look again, there are both options there, using the spare or not. Four tire rotation takes both rear tires and crosses them to the front, and moves both front tires straight back to the rear.

Probably for bias ply's rather than radials as radials were not that common in 1970.

The object is to have the tire spend time on each corner of the car

When radial tires first hit the market & for many years thereafter, when u rotated tires, it was front to rear & rear to front.

Pshaw! My tires rotate automagically when I drive!
