The mystery part is the vacuum storage container. It needs manifold vacuum. Test each port on your carburetor to determine which is manifold, and which is/are ported. Simple, with the engine RUNNING at idle. Pull a connection off the carburetor. If it hisses, it's manifold, if it doesn't, it's ported.
great . ill check the lines when I get home later . got another question if you don't mind . can I just use one vac line from the carb to the air cleaner as im doing away with the TVS?
thanks buddy . may try and mess with it this weekend if my gauge panel came in the mail today and it's not to cold . appreciate the help .
Came to a stand still as this little bugger won’t budge at all . Tried everything I can think of . Any ideas guys ?
I use a wrench like this, https://www.garrettwade.com/non-slip-pipe-wrench-gp.html Bought it from Sears eons ago, but it works. I put a pipe on it for leverage if needed, but it hasn't let me down yet.
Yea don’t think that’s going to work I keep stripping the bolt . Yea I’ve seen those wrench’s and like them but just not enough room for leverage . If I’m junking it I guess I can cut it above the nut with some bolt cutters to get a socket on it ?
Ok it’s out and I put the new sender in and ran the car . It leaks a bit but I didn’t use thread tape . Am I right that I shouldn’t as that’s what grounds the sender ?
Ok I’ll take it out tomorrow and put some on . Thanks again mate for all the help and advice , it’s really appreciated
ok im almost done with all four gauges except the oil pressure sender . tried a 1" but was to small and a 1 1/16 is to big !!!! am I missing something here ? they are 12 sided sockets as I don't have any 6 sided . is there a special socket I need to get ? thanks simon
Yes, oil pressure sender socket, https://www.autozone.com/test-scan-...ket/oem-oil-pressure-switch-socket/141490_0_0
