Dallas - I'm not following you here....my Gas Tank Pads are 1/8" thick like the original material. You say you need something "thinner" but also mention "1/2".

EDIT: I went back and re-read your post.....I see what you're asking...something that is approx HALF the thickness of the Gas Tank Pad.

    PM sent. Thanks

Hey Patton, I may be dropping my tank to replace my sending unit. I've always wanted one of these. Might as well quote me a price to o4612 so I can do some planning..

Hi Patton, I’d like one of those pads as well. Restoring a 70 right now. When we dropped the original tank it still had the factory pad. To deteriorated to reuse, but, Top of the tank still looked shiny and new, and the build sheet was also mint shape! I want to be sure I have one on the restoration. My zip code is 14559. Please send me info on how to pay you. Thanks. Tom N

Tom - I'll PM you with total cost info. I know.....too bad the visible underside of the original tanks don't stay looking the same way and it is amazing how well preserved those sheets can be up there after so many decades. I found one on a '70 Stage 1 I did a lot of work on a couple years back....very nice condition and completely legible, etc.

I also found another document rolled up and stuffed into the dash metal structure behind the L (driver's) side of the dash. I was peeking up under the dash while installing gauges and something looked odd. WTH is that??- looks like a paper tube and not familiar. Later on the dashpad had to come out and it was another build related document. Part of the rolled-up paper was painted black from when the dash metal was sprayed. Cool find.

Check your "Conversation" box and thanks for your inquiry.

Thanks Patton, I’ll look for your pm. I don’t even know how to send one, I’m new at this! I haven’t tore apart the dash yet so I will look there as well! That would be an awesome find. Thx. Tom

Is there different ones for different years? I have a '64 Skylark, do you carry the one it needs? Thanks
