Is it necessary to weld in the driver side frame extension on my 82 Regal or is just bolting it in adequate??? Thanks.
Im of the understanding that you can just bolt it in BUT welding obviously would be the better choice IMO. FYI - Pre 200r4 cars need the extension.
I run a G-force on my 82 Regal for my 200r4 Yes the extension just bolts in, but there should be 2 more bolt & nut hardware supplied with it. Install the extension , it has 2 unused holes in it, you will notice it lines up with the frame, mark the holes on the frame, then drill out, install the hardware. for awhile I didnt do that ,didnt hurt anything, but I noticed every once in awhile it sound like my trans or something in that area hitting the floor on very hard take offs, since bolting to the frame I havent heard anything. HTHs
Thanks all.Now i just need to figure out how to straighten out the the bottom of the "c" channel portion of the frame.Looks like at some point the car was jacked up on the "c" channel rather than the boxed portion of the frame & I cannot get the extension to lay down flat in the frame channel.:af:
Oooh, that would get me hot too, can you shoot some pics so we can see what it is exactly your up against, then perhaps collectively we could come up some sort of solution/option...
Porta power did the trick:TU Going to bolt in for now,but will definitely weld up once I know everything fits.
