I am no expert, but when I replaced mine, I was told that the one without a return line is for cars without A/C, such as my Wildcat. The return line units were used with A/C cars. I am sure if I was mis-informed, someone will be along to help. All I can say for certain is that mine had no return line and I have no A/C.

Just look at your current pump!
Does it have 2 lines going to it or 3 which would mean you have a return line type fuel system.

    TrunkMonkey Totally bananas

    Yes. ^^^
Adding a return line is very simple, since it is low pressure, any ethanol rated line will work, even with EFI, and with todays korn likkur gas, no real downside to doing it.
