Bought a pair of Right Stuff crossed drilled/slotted rotors for a drum to disc conversion on my 70 Skylark.
Need long studs for my 3.5" Centerlines.
Made the mistake of pressing the correct studs according to ARP, OPGI etc .Part # 100-7702 . Shoulda done a side by side, my fault. Right Stuff uses a shorter stud knurl because the rotor hat is THINNER. I broke both rotors, cracks at every stud/lug hole in hat. JUNK.
Apparently I need to source better rotors. You guys running skinnies up front on long studs with open lug nuts, what rotors ( stock sizes) and what studs are you using on the Front End Disc Brakes???????

My snap on guy looked at the rotors today and we compared the studs, he thinks the rotors were drilled to fit the studs they had, kinda like we thought. I wonder what hole size arp calls for for those studs.

I posted a question at Summit Racing, asking what studs fit them. I'll go to source and call Right Stuff. Truthfully, I would rather not use the Right Stuff rotors, hoping someone would step up with recommendations , for better rotors that use the "correct" studs not just whatever the Chinaman had in the 55 gallon drum next to him. No one running stock sized front disc brake rotors with long studs for skinnie front rim/tire combos?

I used long studs but mine had drums, I had no issue knocking the factory studs out and putting arps longer in front. But that doesn't help you.

My new disc brake are all wildwood and use screw in studs on their hubs.

You might call wildwood and see what they say or if they sell a rotor with long studs in it already. I know they have a few kits for A body fronts that use a stk style rotor.

Are you sure you need the long studs to be legal......not sure what rim your using exactly but you might have enough thread engagement without needing longer studs. I know it's easier to have the open nuts so the tech guys can just see them sticking out past rather than having to pull a nut and have them measure if they want to get picky

Not running skinnies but do run ARP studs on stock (Raybestos) rotors. This is a tall spindle conversion so this would be the standard 11 inch rotor that was used by the billions.

  8. I’m using Raybestos rotors with Moroso studs. I researched what the factory knurl is/was and found a set in the Moroso catalog with the closest knurl dia. in 7/16-20

Summit has the Raybestos rotors. I'll pull the trigger on them soon and reply back here....
    Thanks for the replies folks!

I have the ARP studs # 100-7702 in my front drum hubs now, no problem putting them in either.
Not so much a matter of being legal for tech , but more so for safety, need em with my Centerlines and the open lug let's me breeze thru tech, so that's a plus. Jim

I used Moroso studs for my setup. I wish I could remember what size I used. I just sold a setup with a set of tubular control arms for way cheaper than I should have.
