I located an early 70 stage 1 motor for my car.

This motor dose have a vin stamped on it so before I have it built and decked to use in my car.

I will make one attempt to locate the person who might have the car this motor belongs in.

motor or any parts are not for sale to anybody other than the person that this motors vin matches.
and will only be offered in exchange for a replacement motor for my car.

please don't ask me too sell it to you if you do not have the car this belongs in.

please don't ask me to sell parts off it.

    vin is 4Oh269053

I wouldn't deck it regardless - That "SS" stamp on the deck is valuable regardless & other than that it's the same as any other 455 block which are still pretty plentiful.

I'll post the whole serial #'s just in case anyone happens to do a search: 446370H269053 or 446670H269053

it will all depend on what the machine shop says.

Just document it with before photos and it’s still identified as a true Stage 1 motor I would think, SS stamps are plentiful……

    docgsx It's not a GTX

Looks like it still has a distributor in it, is it a stage one distributor? Depending on what date code it is, that would be more valuable than the engine itself to many here.

I agree. The SS block is only valuable if it could be reunited with the car its from and the car is probably long gone. Otherwise, its just a 455 core, SS stamp or not. Its still not going to be the original engine for anything it gets put in. The real value is the distributor here

There seems to be some value in '70 SS blocks above & beyond a std. 455 for ppl w/NOM cars since it's the closest to being correct. I don't know that it adds to the value of the car but...

This may be as close as you’re going to get and should jump on it. I would if I had a X to put it in.

And obviously, if he has the original carburetor, that would be another great piece!

Iwas talking to a customer that said he bought 455 + trans out of brunos in harvey ill. White 70 / red andblack stripe on it.. I had heard stories about the yard but didnt believe them. Over 10 years prolly more until I checked it out. Seen him couple weeks later, I asked him if he had the wheel from it. But thatcombo was all he grabbed. But this time he mentioned the tach on the hood. Well he didn't know what it was. Nonetheless the OG engine/trans got to be worth something. Providing it hasn't been decked. My hometown friend cut the boss 302 deck years ago. He got the carb everything matching matching but tossed smog pump.
