I'm out getting estimates on a new top... Can anyone help me determine if I have "Fixed" rear bow.

All I know is that installer who asked didn't know what it was, so he's out!

    It's a 70 skylark.

    Any insight will be appretiated.

    Thanks..

I know when you buy a top, each company has their own spec for the rear bow height. The rear bow must be adjusted to the recommended height to fit right. It could be 20.5", 20.75" or whatever. That's from the stainless molding below the rr window to the center of the rear bow. once you take the top off, there is nothing to hold that rear bow in place, upholstery shops use special adjustable locking sticks to set and hold the rear bow. I guess it's not a fixed bow!

The measurement is not taken from the chrome below the rr window, but from the chrome trim around the top well.

Six of one, 1/2 dozen of the other! It's the only shiny piece of metal below the rear window...and it's NOT CHROME, it's stainless!!!

My error, usually when someone uses rr in reference to a car it refers to right rear, as in rr tire or brake light, not rear, hence my correction of the position the measurement is from.

Ok Tom...no prob! Bob...there is an Electron dealer in...I think E. Providence TJACS. They put a top on my Mustang. There's another listed in Seekonk off Rt 44.
