That is one hard running Buick. And, it is about the fastest convertible I have ever seen. Great combo.
Hey Gary, When are you going out again? I've got my car running and I'll be needing to make a few 1/4 mile passes in the near future. Maybe we can meet at Fontana for one of their non street legal events. Bruce
Hey Bruce, I may be going to Fontana to the LA invasion race, it's this weekend, TNT on Sun. & Mon., and a bracket race with cash payouts on Monday. Do a search of "LA invasion" or I guess check on Fontana's web site. Other than that not sure when I'll be going out, I need to check Barona's schedule. Gary G.
JUst paid my registration for the LA Invasion GM race at Fontana this Sunday. It is an all GM event, but due to low turn out, racing is open to all makes and models. Monday they are also running TnT, plus a cash bracket, race is limited to 200 cars, and for Sunday, car & driver was $60, not bad, and can run all out. Hope to see some 9.40-9.30s', or better, last year my car ran it's best motor pass at this race. Gary G.
Well I did go racing in Fontana Ca on Sunday, it was the La Invasion Race, all GM run what ya brung races, limited to 200 cars, they have a hard time getting the 200 so the open it up to all makes and models. It was a hot day, 95 deg. pretty tuff when you're in a black car with a black top, wearing full multi layer satey gear, and it's black...I only ran 2 passes, could have ran probably 2 more, before I would be out of nitrous and race gas, but my wife, pit crew, was getting pretty fried in the sun..First pass was a 9.58 @ 143, 60 ft. was alittle off (1.41), second pass, spun the tires on the launch, 1.50 60 ft., car started to get crossed up, lifted, straighten it out, then ran it out to a 9.95 @ 141mph. I may be driving thru the converter, rpm comes up fast and is higher thru the whole pass, need to go out again and stop forgetting to push the record button on my playback tach, or the converter may be slipping too much (%), or everything is fine and I'm just making more power than in the past. Gary G.
still pretty good for that heat and all other things considered. you better get that thing jetted up. there is a twin turbo charged beast getting ready to stomp you.
Hey, Gary! I'm gonna make you famous, but in order to do so, I need more info and photos of your car badbuik. Please check your e-mail.
