Went to Fontana Ca, for there street legal drags, cars must be registered and insured, and not go quicker than a 10.0. The used to let a few cars make exhibition passes, I called in advanced, but for no real reason I was told "NO, you can not run exhibition passes you must be street legal" I said I was, but was still told NO. I ran one motor pass, 10.40 @ 130mph, and had to leave the track early so in went the nitrous bottle and went for it! Car left straight, but I did lift for a split second, probably would have been a "30" pass. Oh well, had fun and nothing broke. The lady gave me my time slip shaking her head and said, "nice, but your day is done..." 9.53 @143mph
Hope the link to You Tube works...

I saw you! Nice runs! I was there in my white GMC 4x4. Wanted to check out your car but they called my group right after you ran. Tech was all over me, I could only run to just past the 330'. I had a 6.54 in the 1/8 running to half and was told to slow down lol

I have no problem letting people know what my combination is;motor is 464ci, 12.5 to 1 comp. block is almost a full fill of hardblock, head studs, main studs and a halo girdle. aluminum Buick length rods, BME lightened nitrous pistons, hellfire type file fit rings, block is o-ringed, heads are TA TEs' with the big valves, 1.7 roller rockers, cam is a solid grind from Scott Brown, not too big, I don't have the specs. on me right now, deep sump oil pan, all block oil mods. and I run a Peterson external oil pump, intake is a SP2 ported, carb. is a 1050 dominator, ignition is a MSD digital 7 and an MSD billet distribuitor with the giant pro cap and 8.5 MSD wires. I run a moroso vacuum pump, and a nitrous express gemini twin single stage plate jetted to 200 and it's "on" after I release the trans. brake button. Nitrous unit has a seperate fuel system mounted on the core support behind the drivers side headlight. I also run a mezeier high flow elec. water pump, headers are a custom built 2 1/8th to 2 1/4 step, with 4 inch exhaust and Walker bullett mufflers. Trans. is a th400 w/9in converter, 3600 motor stall and 4500 on the bottle, rear is a Ford 9 in. w/3.70 gear. Motor is fed fuel from an aeromotive a2000 pump. May have missed something, but that's pretty much it. Best motor pass is a 10.29 @131and with this motor, the 9.53@ 143 is the best nitrous pass. Old motor was a 470ci and ran a 9.39, pretty sure this 464ci is right there too. May jet the nitrous to 300 and play with suspension adjustments to try and get that 8 second time slip.........

Gary thanks for the info. Im trying yo get mine in the 10s but it might not make it so I may just have to grab a kit from storage and drop it on the car to get were I want to be. what kind of suspention is your set up? it looked like it was hooking ROCK solid. I have a bag in the right corner with shocks on all 4 and a set of NO hop bars. IT would hook with the old mtr no problem(low 12) anthing you like or you find works better??

    Thanks again Doug

The front suspension has TRZ upper and lower A-arms, moroso trick front springs and HAl Qa1 single adj. shocks. Like I mentioned I just redid the rear suspension, I was running stock boxed rear uppers with the mount hole repositioned and solid aluminum bushings, Southside lift lower bars, a stiffer rt rear spring, and air bag in the rt. rear, and stock junk oil filled rear shocks. This set up did get the car to 60 ft. in the mid 1.30's on the bottle, but the car started to push hard to the right and didn't like to go straight. Now I have a new complete race rear suspension, I have the HRpartsNstuff anti roll bar, HR adj. uppers, Wolfecraft racing adj. lower control arms, and Strange double adj. rear shocks. All rear control arms have heavy duty rod ends, and I replaced the aluminum rearend bushing with the HR bearings. With this new set up. the car launches straight, and so far I haven't lost any 60 foot time, but need to do more tweeking and they will drop, those double adj rear shocks will be the challenge. On that nitrous pass, car went straight, even lifting the 60 foot was a 1.38..

Just waiting for you guys to catch up...... [IMG]
I blew the dust off and it's just like a soap opra, I didn't miss much:idea2: Just bustin' your nutz dude.....Hope this motor decides to like you. Seems to be off to a good start. Better than past few. I'm crossing my fingers for you. I still have that intake with the Fogger plumbed for "big-money" when your ready to put it on the bumper.

Tempting, but remember I had to run the extra water lines to the back of the head thru the intake, I don't think your intake is like that. I would like to step up some more, not sure if I should try the 300. Sorta figure by lifting I threw away about a 9.45 pass, but would like to get an 8, but I'm pretty sure even with the 300 I can't do it. Just need to be happy with what I got, probably take out some fuel press. and not lifting I'll go faster.

In the video the 2 nova that ran before me, the purple one pulled up next to me in the staging lanes and gave me the "wanna race nod" at least that's what I thought, then his car pushing buddy came to my car and said "hey can we cut in front of you to race the grey Nova, we thing he'd be a better race for us than you," then laughing said "maybe we'll race you next time..." This purple Nova was in Tech. in front of me, his push buddy said it ran 10.0's on motor, and 8s' on spray....Well, I know the grey one was blown and detuned for the street legals, he ran a 10.61, but the purple one ran a 10.48. He was right, the grey Nova was a better race for him 'cause he would have lost to Me!! If my math is still correct my Buick 10.40 < a Novas' 10.48.......
