Ok, I've been working on this car for about 7 years and starting to get things back together, but I'm stumped with regard to the large hole on either side of the lower fender - alignment hole, drain hole? I don't think it has anything to do with the rocker moulding mounting as those holes are much smaller and in a different location.

What are they for? (near the rocker moulding area - larger hole). IMG_1886.JPG

I always thought it was for the standard Skylark trim. Total guess, though...I've never worked with a car with the base rocker trim before.

Not sure about that, as my GSX has the same large hole.

I'm starting to think that GM may have had the hole punched no matter which trim was used as the larger rocker molding covers it up. I thought at one point it could be a drain, but it is too high. Either an assembly location hole or used for another trim component - I've only personally seen/worked on GS cars, but I see the hole in every photo fender pic that appears original.

All fenders had that hole and yes it was for the standard spear moulding

Never hurts to have an extra water drain
