Is this owned by the guy that has a junk yard on top of a hill in Caldwell?

Yeah. Tim Mishlan in Belle Valley. As a caution to anyone interested, don't Don't DON'T negotiate with Tim based on condition. He will negotiate, but he knows what he has, knows what it all needs, and is fully aware of the condition of the items he sells. He is open to offers, but anyone who says they can't pay his asking price because of dents, rust, missing parts, etc. will probably be ignored from that point forward. This is just one of the properties he has in the little burg of Belle Valley where muscle cars go to die.

I first met Tim 30 + years ago. Picked up some small items from him over the years. Really nice to deal with. As Jim said he knows what he has and what it's worth. When I would work in that area. I always enjoyed stopping in just to BS and see what he picked up since last visit. Years ago he told me where a 70 GSX was for sale locally. It was in fair condition but they wanted $2,800 for it. Couldn't afford it at the time. Oh well. LOL

    BUQUICK I'm your huckleberry.

I've got a SS short block that I no longer need...keep that in mind. it's currently located in NY so it's not too far for you to go pick up.

It’s beyond jaw-dropping to me the original window sticker is still with that car(?!?!)

A subsequent owner of this car had actually located and purchased a block (my records indicate SS -390 VIN 40H293###) for the car, which sold to the current owner as part of the deal. I suspect it has long since been sold off, but don't know for certain. SS-390 would indicate mid-April 1970 production, and thus a bit late for this car, but as scarce as original SS coded blocks/engines are.....

This seems decently priced compared to the one i saw about 2 weeks ago that was in worse condition. Like some others, if i only had the garage space and money, id take it in a heartbeat

I don't think I'd bother trying to locate &/or spending the $ an SS block. It's either the original engine or it's not - IMHO, the wrong SS block adds little to nothing to the value/desirability beyond value of the block itself.
As much as I agree on how nice a Pearl White interior would look, I think the purist in me would have to stick w/the orig. Black. I'd probably drop the body side moldings. The door edge guards might look nice however. I have one NOS set left just in case I ever come across the right car for them.

Another car that needs a correct non-consolette shifter boot. I did get a hold of the correct person @ Year One, who used to stock the correct boot, and he was checking on their minimum order quantity. I followed up & haven't heard anything. I need 2 and it seems there's a need from others. I hate to trim down an Olds boot and also hate to embark on getting them made, but...

That body would be nothing compared to what you've gone through:).

Dano…. I agree with you on all points. Honestly, if it were priced around 1000-1500, I would probably buy it….

Depends what all is there - Could easily be $3k (+/-) worth of parts - Esp. if the hood is still there. Sure would look nice done & sitting next to the convertible & 350 - 3 different shades of blue '70's & all 3 engine options.

Has anyone called/talked to the owner to see what's there/included?

I agree. I did this once, but looking back on it its kind of a waste. Its especially a waste if it costs you more money. Is this a new category, near numbers matching?
