On the Buick wholesale order form there is a listing for V7 Super Sport Wheels. Are those the 14 inch rallye wheel with trim ring? If not, then what are they and could someone post a picture please?

    Thanks!

Yep those wheels are from 71 and 72 Skylarks/GS.

Attached are photos of them installed on my 71 GS.

Ryans-GSX Have fun, life is short.

I Have a set of these if your looking for a set for your car. The ones I have are off a 1971. You can also have them converted to 15" like others have done here on the board.

I am looking for a set since it is what came on my 1970 GS . How much do you want for them? My zip code for shipping is 71901. You can PM me if you want.

    Thanks,
    Tom

1970 Super Sport wheels are completely different than 71-72 wheels.

A 70 Super Sport wheel is basically a non chrome, painted 14" Buick rally wheel with a trim ring

Thanks for the pictures George. V7 is on my 1970 Buick wholesale order form and is what came on my 1970 GS. I have been wrestling with the decision to find these or going with the more desireable 15X7 rallye wheels.

Wow Jason, that confuses things a bit. I do want the correct V7 Super Sport wheel for my 1970 GS.

Just to clarify, George has great pics of the wheels. However, only the centers with the silver background in the first pic on the car are correct for the 71-72 wheels. The Later black background centers are not correct if you are worried about those things.

The V7 super sport wheel first appeared in 1969 and was the same wheel in 1970, 14x6. As Jason said, 71 & 72 are completely different.

There was also a trim ring wheel in 1968 similar to the 69 super sport wheel except it had chrome spokes. There was not a factory code or number for this style wheel and rumor says that the factory had problems obtaining full chrome wheels during he production year and had to substitute the standard rim/chrome center with trim ring wheels. These wheels would not fit over the dual piston brake calipers and the only rally type wheel available with disc brakes in 1968 were the chevy style with the Buick derby cap.

Here's a photo of the V7 wheels from my 1970 GS. The center caps are missing in the photo but they are the same as the chrome wheels.

As Jules Winfield said, exactamundo! The 1970 would have the larger ribbed cap with a black center.

Does anyone know what this wheel belongs to? It looks very similar to the 71-71 Super Sport wheel.

The last photo was the one I post very early in this post, they are 71 buick 14x6 super sport wheels, in 72 they were 14x7 and very hard to find.

Anthonyp, Those look a lot like late 70's (78-80) El Camino wheels.
