    Hi all,

Anyone have any suggestions on how to investigate and document an engine swap done under warranty. Subject is a 70 GS455 built in Flint and sold in S. Carolina. Dealer is still in existence but moved is operations.

If the dealer did in fact do it under warranty, the engine in there will be an over the counter replacement. IIRC, the serial number on the block should start with B2E. That's not to say someone didn't buy a replacement engine after the fact and install it years later. Either way, its not the original engine

The B2E XXXXXXX will be on the face on the driver's side of the block just under where the head mates. I would look on the deck of the block in the first two spark plug holes on the driver's side first. They may contain numbers and letters that resolve the issue.
