Well since it was my first day on the road (Thur.) with the 455 installed, I was being cautious. But just prior to going into the grocery store I had my first full throttle 1/2 shift, it shifted at 5400 rpm. I went into the store thinking thats a reasonable limit until I get a few hundred miles on it. When I left the parking lot I notice a young guy in a Talon driving away and looking back as I was pulling out. With the hood off it was drawing some attention (not to mention the new exhaust). Oh yeah, I still have the 350-4 sticker on the breather p . He was driving a ~97 Eagle Talon AWD. I have no idea about his modifications other than the louder than stock exhaust. I ended up following him out of the lot, he quickly jumped out on the four lane divided highway before I got to the stop sign. I was right behind him just before he did this so I made a quick stop and took persuit. As I made the right I saw he was 100 feet or so down the road at WOT. I took a right but took the left lane, as I was trying not to spin. After I hit second gear I could tell I was gaining on him and I could see a tiny puff of smoke from his exhaust as he shifted. I think I had just shifted into 3rd as I was really coming on strong, I hit the brakes to avoid passing him, we were door to door. We both slowed down to 45 or so, he rolled down his window and looked over with a surprised look on his face and said "what the hell do you have in that thing?". I said "it's just an old car" with a big smile on my face, he gave me a thumbs up and I made a left at the the next light. It sure is nice to end with a friendly exchange. :TU:
Hi Craig, It's great to hear you finally got her up and going. That first "spanking" (and all the others in your future:grin: ) is/are an absolutely fan-tab-u-lous feeling! Hope there are many more kills to follow...:TU:
:jd: Knowing that you got it back together and running is a good feeling!!! Glad to see he didn't give you the typical "number 1" wave
