    Hi Guys

I know this might sound like a crazy question. Pulling my 200R4 tomorrow to get rebuilt. Pretty sure the original pan has no drain plug. What's the easiest way to drain the pan without me wearing it all or making a complete mess!!

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Remove all bolts from the pan except for two or three at the front of the pan. Loosen those bolts just a little bit. Knock the pan loose at the rear of transmission. Continue loosening the front bolts and the oil will drain out the back of the pan. I have a plastic 55 gallon barrel cut off I use to catch the fluid

Suck fluid up and out of pan thru dipstick tube, like changing oil in a boat engine.
The little left in pan won't spill all over.

When you pull the driveshaft it'll drain from tailshaft. No need to pull the pan. Obviously you'll be pulling the crossmember so do all that and let it tilt back and drain for awhile. Then put a plug or an extra yoke on the tailshaft to stop the leak..

Got it out with no problem. Just pulled all the bolts except for two front and one back.

I have a local friend checking it over. Was rebuilt once. Wasn't happy with shift points. Tried everything. He used to work in the dyno lab at the GM Transmission plant we used to have in our home town Windsor Ontario. Nice to have a friend that owns a resto shop to pull it on a Sunday
