    Online resources have been found to take care of all the info on the body plate, except I can't find accessory codes. The Riviera guys seem to have figured theirs out. I am unclear whether Wildcat codes are the same or not.

    Here are my accessory codes from my 1964 Wildcat convertible. Any ideas?

    ACC. W-2LR-4FU-5Z

    thanks in advance!

    I just went out and checked my factory shop manual and it doesnt have, only the plants where it was built.

    Where are you located? and whats your name? Not a lot of 64 Wildcat Convert owners here on the board. Even 63,64 Wildcats 2 or 4 dr`s. I think that one of the guys on the board that re-make original window stickers could help out.

    Greg is my name, 1964 Wildcat convertible with a console 4 speed. Just a couple guys on here know me from years ago, as I have had the car 25 years or so, but I have been more or less inactive for 15 years or so. Suburban MD just outside DC. Trying to decide whether to invest more in the car, or sell it for something less time consuming, so I am headed both directions now, getting back into the hobby and having the car for sale also. It's been years since I've poured through the manuals, but I remember the info in the manual is good on the VIN code, but absent on the body plate data. Actually, I found a good site for "most" of the body plate info except for the accessories.

    (I see it won't let me post the link until I have 10 posts)

    Then, I found Riviera discussions online with their accessory code discussions, but I didn't see anything recognizable in the Riv discussions. I looked for a build sheet in the car many years ago, maybe it is time I look again, but I'm pretty sure it was not there. It's a low accessory car, but curious what those few codes are.

    Got some great info from David in Atlanta, would like to share it here for folks:
    Grp 1
    W = Tinted Windshield only

    Grp 2
    L = 4spd manual

    R = Rear Seat Speaker

    Grp 4
    F = Outside remote control mirror, Drivers side.

    All makes sense, very exciting to learn the 4 spd code! David, I really appreciate it!

    Great '63 Wildcat there. I had no idea how much more rare the '63 4 speeds were until I did some more online reading in the last couple weeks. Just as interesting as the cars themselves are the "steely-nerved men" (referring to the classic magazine ad caption for the '64 wildcat) who ordered them new. Makes some sense that my father would have been one of them, but he was buying new Electras that he could barely afford in those years, not Wildcats. Anyway, it makes sense that a few guys back then had to have the Buick, but also had to have the 4 speed.

    Any idea how many '63 sticks were made? I have '64-65 numbers but haven't seen '63.

    Some other threads I had been reading put the # of full size Buick 4 speeds in 1963 at an extremely low figure. I won't try to quote what I read, to avoid an inaccuracy. But it was a very low figure, and I think they could breakdown the figures between coupes, 4 doors, and convertibles. You might search other threads, or maybe someone will post here. I did most of my own '64 full size Buick 4 speed research before the days of the internet, so I'm pretty far behind the times of the latest data.

    What plant was your car built at?

    I am trying to figure out what the ACC code on my 64 Wildcat is, and I have received no answers. Maybe someone out there knows!:Do No:

    Mine was built at the KC Plant and the ACC code is
    ACC 2-17

    My 63 Lesabre Vert was built at the Arlington plant and it's ACC Code is

    ACC C60

    Which is for A/C!!

    I think my '64 Wildcat was built in Newark, Delaware and the ACC code is 419.

    I've never figured out what it means.

    I couldn't find a thread for the '63s, so if anyone knows what to look for, please point me in the right direction. I tried "63 4 speed" and some variations of that, but no luck unless the title of the thread may mislead.

    Hi Diego,
    Matt Menges has shared the Daily Production Report data on the 63's with me. Total 4-speeds were at 355 or so for 63. (I looked today but then had tto get back to work)
    I'll have to look at them again and sort like I did for the 64 and 65's

    Ted

    That would be sweet! I've got the '64-65 list for Wildcats including 2x4 and sticks, plus I kept a post from this site that stated 2x4 production for 1965 Electras, so anything else that's related would be sweet!

    well, now I'm confused. several hundred for 1963 seems more realistic. I did not want to quote a number because the number I had seen for '63 did not seem possible to me (30 for all wildcat body styles). Here is one thread title to search on this site - 1963 Buick Wildcat Convertible 4-Speed.

    Some broke it down between 4 doors and 2 doors (then covertibles and couples). maybe I am reading in wrong. There is a '63 for sale occasionally on ebay, and it got the conversation going. I think there is another link for the '63 discussion, so I will go look for it. I have to check the plant my car was built at. I knew, but forget. By the way, what are the figures for '64 and '65 wildcats. Last I had seen, was an estimate in a magazine article 15 years ago.

    I saw that thread, but there's no documented proof, nor is there any kind of matrix that someone created that would imply documents were referenced.

    yeah, I just don't know. The conversation occurs in a couple threads referencing 30 4 speeds for 1963 Wildcats, (18) 4 doors, 6 coupes, 6 ragtops. I'm just repeating what others said. I see several references to it, but no documentation. I had assumed they already covered all that before I came around. Maybe someone else can clarify.

    My car was built in Flint, and David in Atlanta provided the accesory code info for me that I posted above.

    Saturday's weather will be fine in Maryland, hope to make it a 4 speed, top-down day.

    ok, a bit of literature trivia I looked up this morning. The 1964 Buick brochure obviously lists the 4 speed synchromesh transmission as a Wildcat option. The 1963 brochure has a brief reference to the 4 speed transmission, and says it is an option on all Lesabre, Invicta, and Wildcat models. One of the station wagons was still labeled an Invicta in '63. That is one reason I wondered why only 30 Wildcat 4 speeds could have been made; if it was a clear option in the literature. But literature obviously does not trump production figures that others have sought. My Nov. 1965 master body and chassis parts book shows a diagram of the console shifter and lists it this way, "Four Speed Transmission Controls - With Console, 1963 - 4400-4600-4800, 1964-4600". Another diagram shows the floor shifter diagram "4 speed transmission controls, 1963 - 4400-4600-4800, 4-4600". Doesn't prove anything, I just find it interesting info. The parts listings for transmissions includes "1964 4600 C.T. 4-Speed 1366615 $375.00 Transmission (3.42 ratio)". It also lists "1963 44-46-4800 C.T. 4 Speed (3.36 Ratio) 1366615 $375.00 Transmission". 40-41-4300 transmissions are separate listings, of course. By the way, the sales brochure says the ratio would be 3.42 for 4400 and 4800 models also if they had the 4 speed.

    Shift Levers are also specified for 1963 4800's in addition to the 4400 and 4600's. The Invicta Wagon was a 4600 series, so 4800 is definitely Electras only. So what production numbers exist for 1963 4800 4 speeds????
