Distributor firing order question...

    Post a photo. HEI and many aftermarket distributors use male terminals at the top of the distributor cap. A stock points distributor has female terminals on the top.

    You have a GM HEI distributor.

    So what does that mean for me that it is gm hei? Anything?

    Nothing more than being able to identify the part as far as I'm concerned. Larry asked the question. It has no impact on your original question that I know of.

    I just wanted to know what kind of distributor you had. Could have been anything, points, MSD, Mallory, etc. Post when you get a timing light. Buy a dial back advance light if you can. Sears makes an excellent one.

    Thanks so much to everyone who helped me get my car running again. All the help with torque settings and distributor advance settings. You were more then helpful. My car is ALIVE again! :)
