Dipstick with eddy heads

    Hey guys,
I just finished assembling my 470 with edelbrock performer heads and shorty headers. Today I tried fitting the dipstick tube but it seems to be interfering with either the heads or the header flange. The hole itself isn’t covered but there’s no clear path for the dipstick.
Is this a common issue with this combination?? How do I go about installing the dipstick tube?
    Thank you,
    Nadim

I've got a set of Edelbrock heads on my 462 with a tube. I didn't have any issues. Can you post a picture of where you are having issues and maybe I can see something different or make a recommendation?

With my TA heads, the only thing I needed to do was to cut a piece of the header gasket out. That was in the way of me getting the tube lined up and in.

I don't recall having issues with the dipstick tube on my Edelbrock headed bbb. I have TA supercomp headers and remflex gaskets fwiw. I'll have to look and jog my memory though.

I’ll try to take a picture and post it today.
The heads don’t interfere with the hole but the angle at which I need to put in that dipstick tube is way too sharp because of the header flange as well. The solution could be to use the tubeless dipstick from TA I guess

OK, that sort of rings a bell. I think I started mine in the hole at a different clocking and then, once it was started, clocked it to where it would need to be. I actually had the stick in before I put the engine in the car.

That’s a pic of how it lines up, gona try to take a piece of the exhaust gasket off and try force it in somehow

Yes, I had the dipstick in before the headers. You might loosen the header bolts and give yourself and 1/4" of clearance to get it past the ridge in the tube.

That is what I said in post #4. That was my exact problem. Cut the gasket piece out, I can see it blocking the hole in your picture.
