Dipstick tube... curved, straight, or none

My '70 GSX is lacking any type of dipstick and/or tube. I am wondering what dipstick is correct. My other A bodies have one of each (2 curved, 1 straight, and one tubeless). What's supposed to be there?

I think it depended on the date of manufacture. My 70 GS 455 was an early build, like September 1969 and it doesn't have a tube. Just a dipstick in the block.
I'm sure there are others more knowledgeable who can tell you exactly when the changes were made.

My car did not have a tube, just the thick dipstick in the block. I added the TA reproduction tube and stick. I like that much better. I couldn't care less what is correct.:D

I personally like the curved tube setup, but being what it is, I want the car to be correct. Even the old road tests I can find show different ones. Arrrgggghhhh!

I thought that maybe the curved tube was for cars with power brakes to clear the booster. My 70 GS455 with power drums was complete and original and this is what it had. It also was a very late '70 production car. My other two cars were pretty molested, or missing the dipstick completely :(
