Nicholas Sloop '08 GS Nats BSA runner up

For those of you who have been in the past but didn't make it this year, you will be glad to hear that The Camaro was put out in round 2 or 3 by a Nissan. Sentra ran a 14.26 on a .26 and The Camaro ran something like a 10.33 on a .30. :TU:

It is still more likely than not a fuel starvation problem. I'm going to pull the tank and look at it. Next I think I'm going to swap distributors; then as a last resort replace the fuel lines.

I'm also going to replace the carb. Nick was nice enough to let me borrow his Q-jet and it made a world of difference. Think I could hit 12's with the Q-jet on it. Felt like it would pull the tires since the response with the Q-jet was so quick and strong.

Took it to Denton 3 weeks ago and ran it. No problem in 1/8th mile.

I believe the heads have been worked and run larger than stock valves.

Plugs look fine. No loading up of fuel or running to lean.

My nickel bet is that your fuel pickup sock is coming apart and restricting the fuel intake. When you get the tank out, be sure to blow the lines out from the pump end, even the fuel return line.

jeff bullock Dare to be different !!!

Sounds like the cheapest places to start.Good luck.If those don't fix it you might try a MSD 6A or 6AL.Hopefully the fuel lines or the sock is the problem. :TU:

With regards to the Buick's fine showing in the finals, I appologize. Just shows how much I was keeping up with the racing action .

My best was my first run, 13.57 at 99. My second run was a hundredth off from that then I started to have minor wheel spin resulting in the last two runs being a tenth to two tenths slower.

That just about ties my personal best, so all in all I was happy. Lots better than running out of fuel and running 17s.

After my first round fiasco (yes, I am a racing novice), I bought back in only to be creamed by an import who cut a perfect light and ran 2 hundreths over his dial in.

The electric pump seems to have done the trick. Was delivering 8-9 psi all the way down the track. A bit high, but it does not seem to affect the Edelbrock carb.

I dont know if yall saw OldsGirl's last two runs of the evening, but after the eliminations, she ran two time only runs on spray and made a new personal best: 11.10 @ 120. She was pretty stoked. That was the quickest out of the five Oldsmobiles running.

I will have you know that I was a man about it and STERNLY STATED I was NOT going to no goofy parade. Of course nobody was present when I made this demand, so I sulked till she said I didnt have to go to the parade.

Im glad everybody had fun and the Buicks obviously did well. Im out of the loop till I get a car down there to run. Im not much on spectating. As far as car shows, I do those because they are local. Wont go to BG, Indy, anyplace without a car again. Done that for too many years, so till the beast rises, I wont attend.

That said, out of all events I attend, the Bash is one of the better events to attend. My not attending is no reflection on this event, or any other one. Its my lack of participation with a car that keeps me from them. If I had the car running, I would be there! The GN runs, but Im not going to beat on it, and it wouldnt run a respectable time anyways(its all stock), so theres no point in bringing it.

Yall keep having fun till I get there! :3gears:

    Good times-- Immeasureable
Sunburned skulls-- 1, my first in December!!

    And the best for last:

Oh yeah, ran into snow on the way back through Kansas and Nebraska and it's -1* here at 11:00 am.

James, we are gonna put a snowball or two in the freezer for you so we can pelt you with one when we finally get to meet you!! :TU:

    Well Greg,

It appears you brought that cold weather with you, and did not pack it up for the return trip home! I was looking at 31 degrees this morning. :error:

You are right, Saturdays weather was just beautiful! :bglasses:

As Greg stated we had a great time. Meet soem good people and saw some really nice Buicks kick tail. Not to mention see a bunch of cocky Lightning owners run a way with their tail between their legs. Course now y'all need to make a showing in Kearney and meet some more us from up this way.

Dee, was happy to make sure you got back ok. Would have felt bad if we did'nt and something happened.

Phil, Let Frank now that he needs to check the brake lights on his Riv. The passenger side were not working following you out of the track.
