I'm in the process of doing a frame off restoration on my '67 Wildcat, but I still haven't figured out to get the dash pad off, and it happens to be the one thing that Google doesn't have the answer to. I've gotten the screws from the under side of the pad above the instrument panel and glove box, and I can't see any bolts or screws from the top side. Any ideas what may be holding it on?

    Hello,

Remove the chrome trim on each pillar and then slightly lift up in the front and pull back. There are clips in the back part of the dash and 2 pins on either side in the front.

Look in your chassis manual. If your doing a frame off this book will be your Buick Bible.

. . . x2 on a '67 Buick Shop Manual, and a '67 Buick Chassis Manual - available in printed hard copy, or CD fomat.
Well worth the initial purchase price for the wealth of info contained in these publications !! :TU:

Thanks for the quick responses! I followed the guide (taking off the chrome side moldings and the 6 screws under the dash), but I thought there may be something else because the front edge of my dash pad will lift off, but it still seems like it's connected firmly in the rear, I'm guessing the clips that Snorat mentioned. Time for round 2!

Bingo!! It was the two metal posts on the side. When the manual said "pull rearward", I was expecting it to lift off. I took a small pry bar to the two edges, popped the pins out of the holder and it came off nice and clean. Thanks again!

I'm a little late to the thread, but you got the pins. The manual suggests they should just pop out by grasping the pad, but you need to slip in a pry bar or long screw driver to pop them out as you figured out. I can't tell how long I struggled the first time to "pull rearward" with enough force, thinking all the time I was going to ruin my dash pad in the process!
