I am getting ready to replace my RED dash pad. My question is do the ones from Rest Parts and other come in painted or dyed vinyl? I found a company that states it makes the best fit ones but they only sell Black and say to paint to match.

    I didn't think they made a reproduction dash pad for a 70-72 ?

If your pad is in good shape and it's the wrong color, I'd vinyl dye it instead of buying one in the correct color

They sell an overlay, not a full pad.

Yes I am referring to my Chevelle. Someone replaced the dash with a repo prior and it fits like crap. I have seen some better ones come only in black and can be painted or dyed over. I think I would rather have one where the product started out as Red. Want the best for the 300-500 one would cost.

If the new ones are made out of urethane/rubber then the dye does not adhere too well. If you have to dye one then you are better off doing that to an original.

I have some originals that have been stored for years, and can look to see what I have if you are interested. It will take me a few days to check.

Which type are you looking for, the single speaker or the 2-speaker stereo dash?

Stereo, one speaker each front corner.
