So I just got myself a NOS cylinder heat temperature switch, like the one in the picture. A little obsessive about restoring all stock electrical features I guess :)

What kind of connector goes on this one? Haven't seen anything like it. I would accept a robust workaround for the stock solution but wouldn't like to tamper with the sensor itself if possible.

Aha, and then you slide it over sideways I suppose. Neat, found one locally and ordered it, thanks!

Be careful . These switches only require slight torque . If you use too much you will shear it off .

What is that sensor for? Don't have that in 1968?

Only the big cars have it. It screws into the rear of the cylinder head and monitors the metal temperature. At 265*, it illuminates a “Stop Engine” light on the dash.

In 1968, there was a Cold and a Hot light. From the 1968 Buick Chassis Manual.
