The 10's are there for your taking. I removed the inner bumper guard and the shocks and replaced them with aluminum and made a bracket for the bumper. There is a lot of sound proofing in the floor and top. Removed all the seat belts with the return mechanism. I removed the AC unit and made an aluminum plate. I am running Weld Pro stars which are pretty light, Aluminum radiator, Fuel cell, no wiper motor, manual steering box, aluminum h20 pump, and just got some aluminum rear drums which I haven't put on yet. My door guards are still in but I think thats next.

I'm working on the doors this week... So far the thing is a pain. Still not to sure how I'll get those door braces out? I have cut two big holes thus far. One where the old electric door lock was, the other is towards the hinges. I was going to try to cut the things off at either end with my die grinder, slide it out while cutting it off every 10" or so.. I might actually replace the inner door panels with some Really thin alum. Not sure how well that will look without making the car look like a slow drag car?

    Door info

Guess I forgot to mention that when I removed the door impact braces from my Regal I took the doors off the car (I'm not sure if you have/havenot?) I did this so I could drill out the rivets that hold the bars in the doors. I did this on the first door but not the second one. On the second one I cut out where the rivets are and later used sheet metal screws with an aluminum patch to cover up the holes. I removed the bars intact through the top of the door. The first one I did by myself (removing the bar) but used my son to pry the door apart some so I could get the bar out of the top of the second door (I didn't have enough strength left, I'm a old guy) to do the second door by myself. I of course took everything out of the inside of the doors first as I was going to change to roll-up windows anyway. Hope this helps you somewhat. Do you feel that chewing gum in your hair yet? Just a thought, I would have used a plasma cutter if I had owned one, it would only take seconds to cut it out but you would have to be careful with the heat I think. :Dou:

Oh boy, finally finished the doors :TU:

I cut two holes in the inner skins, then used the die grinder to cut the braces out. Lots of gum in the hair!

    Thanks for the advise :TU:

I just realized your car looks just like the one I used to race at Martin years ago  You didn't buy it from a kid (friend of mine) in Jenison did you? Before he put the v-8 Buick in it I dialed in @ 19.24

The car came from Seattle Washington, it belonged to my 81 year old aunt who is now 94 and doing well - That is the same time this car ran at the Buick meet @ Norwalk (I mean Summit Racway Park)
