425 Dual Quad Restoring 65 'Lark - help

    Gents,

I'm putting B Body brakes from an '81 Le Sabre onto my '65 Skylark. I hve the brass prop valve whcih I took off the car but in reading up on it on variuos web sites [inline tube etc] i think I need another valve.
Ca anyone point me clear on the valves I need on this '81 le Sabre? - prop vale & distribution valve?

    TIA
    Nick :)

    Nick,
There may be several things you'll need to change. Are you going from drum/drum brakes to disc/drum? If so, you will need to change your stock prop/combo valve and the master cylinder. Those parts, taken from the LeSabre, may be fine asumming the master cylinder has the same rear dimensions as the Skylark's.

This link has alot of very good info on brake swaps, written in plain language. You might consider just giving them a call for advice. It appears that they welcome questions.

    Hope this helps.

425 Dual Quad Restoring 65 'Lark - help

    Redi,

Many thanks - I'm going from all drum to disc/ drum. Taken everything of the '81 le Sabre I can [bar most of the hard lines and rear drums] with the intention it wll all connect up OK on the Skylark.

I'll check up on whether the master cylinder has the same rear dimensions as the Skylark's and look on MPB's web site and give them a call.

    Thanks for the info.

    Nick
